R350 Update : YOU CAN NOW CHANGE YOUR PAYMENT METHOD WHENEVER YOU WANT TO

R350 UPDATE – The agency recently announced that
you can now change your payment method whenever you want to.

Well before it wasn’t possible
for applicants to change their payment methods at whichever time they prefer.

SASSA had a particular time that they issued out for people to change these settings, and usually it would be close to month end.

This was announced by the agency on Friday, 17 September.

The last window period that applicants could do this was on,

the 3rd and 10th or September. However things have changed now.

Minister Lindiwe Zulu said that on the 18th of September more than 50% of applications received by the government had banking details.

She was replying to a question from UDM,

as Nkwaka wanted to know what SASSA was doing to tackle the challenges of the SRD grant.

In response, Zulu said SASSA is dependent on the provision of banking account information from the applicants.

“In cases where there are no bank account details provided,

SASSA is obliged to effect payment through the post office, as there is no other alternative.”

People can now be able to change from receiving their money from the post office, to their bank account.

This has no limit to how many times in a month they can do it.

However it wouldn’t be wise to do so two days before your Payday.

This may cause a delay in your payments,

YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO CHANGE

What you must note though is that you are not forced to change your banking details.

If you still prefer to get paid via the post office you can continue to do so.

SASSA introduced this as an improvement to their already operating system.

Applicants must also note that, you cannot use someone else’s banking details,

it should be registered under your name and address.
